How you can style your scarves in 7 different ways!

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have a ginormous collection of scarves that you have no use for when it’s not chilly and you want to warm your neck up. Never fear, I have 7 different ways you can make use of your scarves in every season and with every outfit! Adding a scarf to an outfit is a great way to add a pop of colour or a bit of drama etc and I think scarves don’t get enough credit! I know scarves come in a range of different shapes and sizes, large square, long rectangles, small square etc I will show you have to incorporate them all!

So without a further ado, lets get started on the first way you can wear your scarves for every season!

The very first way I like to add a scarf to my outfits is if I want to cinch my waist without using a corset etc. I would recommend using either a long rectangle scarf folded in half length ways or you can use a large square scarf and fold it diagonally and then fold the corner up until it looks like a rectangular belt. The rest is very simple, all you need to do is wrap the scarf around your waist and tie it into a double knot or a bow depending on how much scarf you have left. You can make it as tight or loose as you’re comfortable with and it will create a gorgeous cinching effect along with adding a lovely pop of colour!

Let’s turn a scarf into a top! Bippity Boppity Boo! I would recommend using a large square scarf for this as you’ll need to fold it diagonally and then wrap the scarf around your front so you can tie it at the back in a double knot. This creates a stunning scarf “tube” top but if you’re not comfortable just wearing a scarf as a top, I would recommend wearing either a long or short sleeved plain top underneath it. It still looks great, and you will still look FABULOUS!

This next way to style a scarf is very similar to the previous method. So you’re going to need the same large square scarf as before and you’re going to tie it around the back of you like before but once it’s secured, bring the back of the scarf to the front so that the double knot is in front of you now. Just tuck the two ends of the knot underneath the scarf and adjust the scarf so that it fits around your chest and there you have a gorgeous and sexy scarf top! Now, I wouldn’t wear it with nothing underneath unless I was able to use boob tape etc, but you can still wear a cute little crop top underneath, and it would create a beautiful, layered effect in your outfit!

The fourth way to style a scarf is to wear it as a belt! I would recommend using a long rectangular scarf for this so you can wrap it around your hips and have the ends hang loose in a elegant way! Or if you want a bit more of a statement piece, you can tie the scarf into a bow around your hips which will create a gorgeous silhouette!

The fifth way to style a scarf is to wear it on your head! Now you can use a square or a rectangle scarf for this. Both will give you a different style. If you’re working with a larger square scarf, all you have to do is fold it diagonally and then either fold it diagonally again if that fits around your head or you can fold the top half of the triangle underneath itself and that should also work. Just wrap it around your head with the ends coming underneath your hair and tie a double knot.  If you’re working with the long rectangular scarf, all you have to is either fold it in half if it’s wide and wrap it around your head underneath your hair and tie a double knot!

This sixth way of styling a scarf is the more traditional but I adore it anyway! You can either use a small/large square scarf or you can use a long rectangular scarf. What you’re going to do is (with the rectangular scarf) fold it in half or maybe again if I’s still too wide and find the middle of the scarf. Wrap the middle of the scarf around your neck so the scarf ends are lying behind you. Then just tie the ends at the back of your neck in a double knot (be careful not to tie it too tight) and you have these gorgeous elegant trains of fabric that will trail behind you as you walk! Or you can bring them to the front and have another accessory to play with! If you’re using a square scarf, fold it diagonally again and tie the ends of the scarf around your neck either to the side or at the back of your neck (depending on your preference) and then you have a cute neck scarf!

The final way to style a scarf in this blog post is a little unconventional but no less fabulous! For this you’ll need a rectangular scarf of medium length. fold the scarf in half and use the two sides to create a bow. Once you have your bow that you’re happy with, you’re going to need some safety pins. Or you can tie the scarf onto your sleeve (if you’re wearing a short-sleeved top) into a bow. I recommend 3 safety pins so you can attach the middle of the bow, as well as the 2 bow curves to your top. And once it’s attached, you have a beautiful statement piece that will take your outfit to the next level!

And there you have it!

7 different ways you can style your scarves so that you can keep wearing them throughout the year!
